Arbor Day is a special day set aside each year to encourage individuals and communities to plant trees and celebrate the many benefits they provide. Grand Junction, CO, will be holding its annual Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Lincoln Park. This event provides an excellent opportunity for residents to come together and learn about the importance of trees in our community and the world at large.
Free Seedling Trees for Homeowners
One of the highlights of the Grand Junction Arbor Day celebration is the distribution of free seedling trees to homeowners. This year, the city forester, Rob Davis, has reached out to inform residents of this opportunity. Seedlings will be distributed at the park starting at 9:00 am until supplies run out. It’s a great chance to add a tree to your property and contribute to the overall well-being of our city’s urban forest.

Ash Bark Beetle City Program
The Ash Bark Beetle is a pest that has been causing significant damage to trees in our area. The city of Grand Junction has initiated a program to treat Ash trees against the beetle, and T4 Tree Service is supporting the program by providing necessary equipment.
If you are interested in participating in this program, make sure to visit T4 Tree Service’s booth at the Arbor Day event. Seth Stowell, the Plant Health Care supervisor, will be available to answer your questions and provide information about the program’s requirements. He will also show you how T4 Tree Service injects the Ash trees with the chemical to prevent beetle infestation. By participating in this program, you will not only protect your trees, but the city will also pay half of the cost.
